The shopping center

Hi, everyone!

It has been warm today, and I could feel the coming of spring. Tomorrow is the 1st of March. It sounds nice, doesn’t it?

Tonight My HD came home from his two days’ business trip. He is a sensitive person and I could enjoy my free time these two days. On the day before yesterday, my kids and I went to a big shopping center to get some clothes after school. We looked for good clothes, got them, stood and read in a bookstore, had a try at some massage machines. (How wonderful the latest ones were!) At last we ate some sushi at a sushi bar, and could have a pleasant time. Then my kids asked me, ‘When will he go to business trip next?’

So, see you tomorrow. Good night.

TIME

Hi, everyone!
How are you???

This morning I went to Plum’s house to talk about my essay. In fact, I had really felt nervous about it during last week. I had to do a lot of works and was confused. But Plum’s warm, valuable advice made me very, very happy, and now I’m full of fight. When she talked about her tough fight in learning English, I found I was too optimistic. Anyway, I have a lot of TIME. I’m going to improve my English. Thank you very much.

I also feel great respect for your effort, dear friends.

So, see you later! Good night.

The Academy

Hi, everyone!

Today I left a TV on in order to watch the Academy Award ceremony, while writing, eating, and cleaning. I didn’t watch it so intently, but I enjoyed a lot of gorgeous scene.
It was so luxurious that I have felt stuffed all day long.

And now my poor brain seems full of many English.
So, see you tomorrow. Good night!

The severe winter

Hi, everyone!

It has been cold today, hasn’t it? It seems the severe winter has come back.

Today is Saturday, and I have some routine work. At noon we have lunch while watching a TV program yoshimoto, a sort of, slapstick comedy. After lunch, I send my kids to piano lessons and the library. We have maintained such schedule for about two years.

So, see you tomorrow. Good night.

My biggest challenge

HI, everyone!

Plum, I was really surprised by your suggestion:

I just hope you will expose yourself to English, in any fashion you like, such as reading or listening, for at least ten hours a day…so that you will learn the language very quickly.

AT LEAST TEN HOURS A DAY… really…?

At first I was nervous about it, but I’ve just made up my mind to try it. I can use my ten hours every week day until the spring holidays start. I will expose myself to English for about 50 hours a week, 200 hours a month. It will be my biggest challenge.

So, see you tomorrow. Good night.

Grammar book

Hi, everyone!

Today, almost yesterday, was very warm and it made us happy, didn't it?

Two days ago I bought a reference book of grammar on the recommendation of Plum. It is rather a thick one and has a lot of practice for elementary students like me. Today I read Unit 12, which tells me 'I didn't...Did you...?' I learned such grammar for the first time in about 30 years since I was at junior high school. I should have learned it earlier in my life. I will finish it till next month.

So, see you, good night.

Today's lecture

Hi, everyone!

I’m sorry to have worried you about my daughter, but she is getting better now. Last Friday, she said something was wrong with her stomach, probably because she caught cold. She kept lying down during the last three days. This afternoon she could get noodles, and I hope she can go to school tomorrow.

In fact, I felt really sad to have today’s lecture from Plum. I have too many problems to be solved. I wonder whether I can finish this work until next month. To learn the textbook of grammar now… it seems too late. Anyway, I already ordered the book through the Net. About this Blog, I regret wasting our time. From now on, I will do my best on it. I am deeply grateful to you, Plum.

So, see you tomorrow. Good night.

Valentine's Day

Hi, everyone!

It was Valentine’s Day today. Do you know Tomo-choco? These days, young girls present chocolate things not only to their lovers, but friends. Even my kids exchanged handmade chocolate with their friends. I, too, made it for my HD. It’s a sort of ceremony, not love for me…

So, see you tomorrow, good night.

Shiny green

Hi, everyone!

Alice, it is actually special for children to celebrate their birthday from others. My younger daughter has never received celebration on time from her friends and teachers, because she was born on August, in the middle of summer vacation. But last year it was different. Her teacher send her a birthday (and summer greeting) card on the very day of her birthday. What a tender affection! She was very glad at the card, of course. I appreciated that teacher.

Plum, it’s a good thing you came through the roof crisis. By the way, I like those trees in the shrine on the opposite side of your house. Whenever I visited your lovely room, I could enjoy looking the shiny green of the trees through window. That scenery is really charming for anybody, isn’t it? But I have never heard such terrible sound, and now I am going to imagine it…Oh, I recall Kazeno matasaburo, not Wuthering Heights. I’m only Japanese…

So, see you tomorrow. Bye!

Atsuhime

Hi, everyone!

Plum, how terrible news… I didn’t know power of snow was so strong. I hope the antenna should hold for another couple of days.

Do you watch a saga drama Atsuhime? At first I didn’t have any interest, but when my HD explained about it as usual, her story attracted me. She led a checkered life in bakumatsu and the Maiji era as a wife of the Tokugawa shogun. I also heard that then Satsuma-han had a great educational system to develop talents of young people. I’d like to read the original work of this drama.

So, see you tomorrow. Good night.

Today's snowfall

Hi, everyone!

How are you doing??
I appreciate your sweet concern with me. I had not caught cold, but seriously developed hey fever for the first time in these three years. In addition to that, I concentrated all my energies on my essay until recently, and I couldn’t sit in front of my PC to write any more, but just enjoyed your messages. I am now not so bad, and have foresight on my essay to some extent. Anyway, I am happy to come back again.

The other day, I watched a DVD titled Syriana that depicted some severe condition of the Middle East in connection with the oil industry. When I finished this movie, I was just afraid of easiness of our country. No natural resources, few food-self-sufficiencies. Is it OK…? I feel anxiety about our future.

It was an extraordinary event… today’s snowfall! My kids and I made a big snowman on an empty space behind our apartment. I could return to the innocence of childhood.

So, good night, see you tomorrow.

Congratulations!!

Hi, everyone!

Congratulations, Magnolia!
You have done successfully as we expected…! We can feel happy with such good news.
If I am a tourist, I want to be guided with a person like you.

Some member could get the master’s degree and so congratulations, too!
How high-leveled we are…I, too, will do my best.

How are you being!?
I have a little bit stuffy nose and difficulties on precise writing essay.
It is really hard for me to form an essay in English. But I am now keen on subjects in Meiji and Taisho era, about which I didn’t know ever.

So, see you tomorrow. Bye!

Japanese history

Hi, everyone!

Now I am tackling my first essay on women’s political activities in the Meiji and Taisho era, but I am no good at Japanese history, in particular of modern times. I think the more I know a survey of history, the more I can easily get the point of atmosphere at that time, and so I borrowed some comics which depict Japanese history. But I couldn’t see those situation because my ignorance about some famous people in history. I talk to myself, ’ What on earth did Ito Hirobumi do…?’ ‘Who is Kotoku Syusui…?,’ and so on.

In fact, we have been told only men’s histories of power struggles which do not concern me at all. There is no interest, there is no memory. I will have trouble understanding men’s history for some time.

So, see you soon. Have a good weekend.
