The end of August

Hi, everyone!

Plum, thank you for showing the recipe of lasagna with spinach and pumpkin.
Only reading it made me feel tasty and try cook it.
I also checked the site of Martha Stewart, as Plum showed before.
It is amazing that has many wonderful corners,
about such as food, crafts, gardenning, and so on.
Each of those is so stylish and fancy, that I just watched every corner of them.
I wondered who is Japanese Martha, is it Harumi Kurihara?

Azalea, Plum, I'm glad to see your favorite novels.
Do you like historical novels in china, Azalea?
I've never read those to the end, because I'm weak in remenbering names of many characters.
But I'll try them someday.

It's the end of terrible August today.
With the arrival of September, I feel mild and calm.

So, see you, dear friends!

Haruki Murakami

Hi, everyone!

I can hear the singing of insects outside, which really makes us feel relieved, doesn't it?

Do you like novelist Haruki Murakami?
I've had no special thoughts about him, and I've read only two novels of him,
'Noruwei no mori,' and 'Umibe no kafuka.'
But the other day, I took TIME in my hand and tryed to run through it,
in which a news about Murakami appeared. It was very interesting for me.
At that time I wanted to try his novels, and so I rent 'Nejimaki-dori kuronikuru.'

When I finished one of the three volumes, I regreted reading it at night.
At first, I felt a comfortable light touch with it, but finally "the horrifying narrative of a soldier
in World War 2 Manchuria"( from TIME) made me really sick.
That shock was so hard that I can't start the rest of it yet.
His novel's image was very light and amusing for me until now.
But it must be different, and so now I'm interested with himself.
Do you have any favorite writers ?

So, good bye and see you!

Lightning flash

Hi, everyone!

Sunflower, Thank you for your interesting information about "christianity."
I recalled some discussions about it at Aichi seminar, which aroused our interest.
If possible, I'd like to join and learn at Jonathan's session.

Azalea, I'm sorry that you missed the DVD of Billy's boot camp,
which is just the talk of the town.
But they say that may be pretty hard for beginners,
and so you might make a good buy.
please tell me its effectiveness, next time.

This afternoon, there was lightning flash and hard shower.
It will not be long before this summer is end...
Take care of you, dear friends.
Good bye and see you.

Welcome back, Magnolia!

Hi, everyone!

Magnolia, you could come back, again!
I hope your PC keeps better than before, and you could enjoy with us from now on.
I'm happy to hear that you visited Hirugano with your friends
and had a good time escaped from Nagoya's heat.
I like a fragrant smell of liliy, which makes me just as if to be sweet and noble lady,
and so, I'd like to go there some day.

Plum, I was interested with your story when you were a young girl.
You really have brilliant talent not only of English, but also of doing handicraft.
When I picture you delivering your hand-made dolls to gilrs in the neighborhood,
I'm very amused by that scene.
But what I was surprised more is your untiring energy about learning.
I just respect your many efforts, and hope follow you.
Now I read a half of paper of Engels, but I feel I have no sense to understand.
Anyway, I must go ahead, and go ahead.
Thank you so much for your encouragement words, Plum.

So, my kids are waiting their supper, good bye and see you!

My younger daughter

Hi, everyone!

Yesterday, my family went bowling at Hoshigaoka.
Because my younger daughter like it very much,
and she wanted to go there at her birthday.(8.24 was hers.)
She played not so good, but really enjoyed throwing a ball and knocking down
pines.
I suppose that she loves the whole hand-works.
When she was at a kindergarten, she sewed with tiny stitches by hand better than me!
And she always love to do household chores,
such as dishwashing, ironing, hanging the laundries, and so on.
She wants to be a patissier in the future.
It's unbelievable, is she my daughter??
Yes, she may be her father's daughter.

So, good bye and see you!

Late summer...

Hi, everyone!
These days I feel like this crazy late summer doesn't end forever...

Alice, thank you for telling me about the short story.
While I cooked our curry last night, I only felt good smell and spicy flavor.
I haven't read the author's works, but your introduction about Indian women cutting many vegetables sounds dreamy.
The traditional foods may cause something special for people,
and good cooker could create her/his special story with those.

I have more 1 week of summer vacation with kids, and miss my lonely days.
I hope all of you enjoy this late summer.
Good bye, and see you.

About white curry

Hi, everyone!

Sunflower, thank you for your advice of vitamins.
I already felt 'natsubate', or summer fatigue.
Our family don't like some vegetables, such as tomato, eggplant, and green pepper,
so called 'natsu yasai.'( I like them very much.)
But when I read your comment, I decided to cook those in our meal.
Then, I got a roux of ' white curry in Hokkaido' for the first time, and
tried it with those begetables.
At first my husband and kids took a fearful look at it,
but when they ate it in one, said "well, it's tastey!"
Though I don't like cooking, thanks to this roux, I could cook a sort of, Thailand-style curry.
Those spicy and creamy flavor made us really eneregetic.

So, see you, and good night!

About 'castration'

Hi, everyone!

Sunflower, thanks to you, I can read 'castration' file easily.
Those seems interesting, because Dr.Masao Miyamoto (an auothr of 'oyakusyo no okite') analyzed and criticized not only bureaucrat systems but also education systems in Japan.
As Alice just said,"I gradually learned how dangerous it is to have opinions in Japanese Society,"
we have had such experiences, large or small, I think.

Plum, I very much appriciate what you have done for us.
Through this blog, we can learn many things, like F.Engels.
It is wonderful to learn important thoughts on our history, and I will follow you as much as possible. (it's hard a little bit.)

So, it's time to washing dishes.
I want a dishwasher...
Good bye, and see you, Dear friends!

A cool day

Hi, everyone!

It was so cool today that I could spend all day without an air conditioner.
Even the 30s, I felt comfortable.

Sunflower, please teach me about your paper.
Should I get my MSN hotmail to access your file?
If so, I will try it.(I don't have it.)
Thank you, sunflower.

Plum and Cosmos, thank you for your sympathy about my old school days.
Well, I think those days might yield my vague question about myself,
and now, finally take me to our group and meet all of you.
Come to think about it, it might be very important for me.
I'm lucky with you now.

So, I hope you also feeling happy.
Thank you, and good bye!

About Mary Wollstonecraft 2

Hi, everyone!

Let me continue about Mary Wollstonecraft.
When I was educated at schools, there were no teachers telling us about Rousseau's insulting thoughts against women. ( he wrote 'women were created to please men')
On the contrary, teachers themselves told us many insulting remarks without shame.
Come to think about it now, they were also ordinary people, but at that time I couldn't accept them.
But I'd like to value my sense of reject against anything that might cause anxiety or stress for me.
There may be many nameless Wollstonecraft-like women on the history.
It is fun for me to learn their thoughts and life.

So, good bye, and see you!

About Mary Wollstonecraft

Hi, everyone!

Sunflower, I also remembered when Jonathan came to our meeting,
and said 'castration'.
At that time I couldn't understand his opinion all,
and so I'd like to read that paper.
Would you send it for us?
"oyakusho no okite"(in Japanese) gave me many suggestions.

Plum, I'm also sorry for Ulala-san's trouble,
and I hope she will be well soon.
She and her husband must be reassured by your great help.

By the way, I read an article about Mary Wollstonecraft, and was very impressed with her powerful life.
I have great respect for her many courageous behavior, especially a refutation against Rousseau, a well-known thinker.
I have heard his problematic statements in his nobel Emile, but never heard her resistance.
One of my high school teachers used to say in public, "women have to please men and to bear their children," and gave me angry at that time.
I was disappointed in many people thinking so in their heart, but she gave me a strong power to fight against.
Thank you very much, Plum.

So, I have to cook, good bye, friends!

A used-book shop

Hi, everyone!

Azalea, your comment sounds very impressive for me.
I think your appropriate and warm expressions about each of us can prove your attentiveness.
It may be interesting to modify us, after the manner of Plum.
How about "Attentive Azalea"??

Today my kids and I went to a used-book shop, and bought some books.
It was enjoyable to hang about in the large shop, looking at many bookshelves,
but I got 4 books for 400 yen!
(Is this good for the bookshop industry?)
One title of those is "oyakusho no okite," a straitjacket society, by Masao Miyamoto,
for which I was looking for a while.

It was hot today, and when will the temperature fall ?
Take care of you, friends.
See you tomorrow!

A heavy shower

Hi, everyone!

We had a heavy shower just now, and I hope cooler wind will blow.

Plum, thank you for your instructions about an advertisement on a cereal box.
Though each word seems very simple, I can't think of those links.
I must read such real English more.

Azalea, It's wonderful 7 cascades in such hot summer!
I don't know about Adera, but I'd like to go there some day.
You really refreshed in minus ions, didn't you?

Today, my family went to take a bath in a hot spring,
and I just enjoyed Korean-style akasuri. (I love it!)
So, I'm tired now a little bit.
See you tomorrow, and good night!

Happy Birthday!

Hi, everyone!

Cosmos, Happy birthday to you!!
How did you enjoy today?
I vividly remembered you, when I met you for the first time.
I think your name Cosmos go perfectly with you, cute and clean.
Thanks to you, I managed to come here with all of you.
Thank you, Cosmos, I hope you will enjoy more and more.

Plum, I was happy to hear that you also like TV drama Desparate Housewives.
I love all housewives, but Bree gave me a most deep impression.
I don't know my feeling mean "fantastic," (Doesn't this mean a good?)
She had a nice husband, who was a doctor, and two healthy kids.
She did her job everyday as a housewife perfectly, but ended in a tragedy.
Though Susan didn't have any sense for good housewife, She looked like happy.
I want to talk more, but I will later.

Today, our blog had two months!
I am really enjoying this blog and hope you also enjoy.
So, good night and see you!

"The desparate housewives"

Hi, everyone!

Yesterday at Nagoya, it was 39.4 degrees...I don't know how high it is today,
but even tatami room in my house is just like a sauna.

Do you know the TV drama "The desparate housewives"?
When I read Cosmos's comment, I just remembered it.
(I loved this drama.)
One of 4 heroines became an alcoholic,
and reluctantly joined to an association of patients.
Though they were involved some severe situations, those scenes always made me laugh.
I don't know why, but on TV they seemed funny.
Moreover, they also liked go to their therapist.

I can't recommend "therapy session" to everyone, but I think I just had a lucky chance with good and skillful therapist.

Since I came to Nagoya, I had many encounters with great people.

Most important one is with Plum and all of you in this group.

Thank you very much...

So, see you, friends!

the hottest day!

Hi, everyone!

It was unbelievable 40 degrees at Tajimi, Gifu.
Even at night, I can't go out from our living room with an air conditioner.
Azalea, how can you open the window??
I ate a cup of flavored shaved ice with my kids today, and "somen".
These days we couldn't eat anything but cool noodles at lunch.
How do you survive this hot summer?

The end of such a crazy day, I will go to bed early.
I hope you have a good night...
See you!

My grandma

Hi, everyone!

Alice, your comment about your grandmother reminds me of mine,
who loved talking with my family.
But now, I also regret my rude behavior against her.
She used to chat about nothing special for me, and I usually paid no attention to her.
Since everyone has own great history, especially for women, we should have exchanged
our experiences.

Plum, I was so moved with your frank talk, not complaint.
When I started my married life, I didn't doubt my life as one woman.
But time went by, now I have many unsolved questions in my mind.
Last year, I bravely went to a counseling for women for the first time.

My counselor was polite, aged woman, who had enough capacity for empathy.
For about 6 months, I continued it, and satisfied so much.
Talking my feelings to disinterested others was very comfortable and faithful.
Through such process, I realized many truths for me, and decided good choices.
I also hope an exchanging place for women in the future.

It is late, and good night, friends.

In the Net 2

Hi, everyone!
How are you today?

Cosmos, I'm interested in your feelings about too rapid progress in this society.
For example, in such Obon season, there are many shops opening every day and night.
It seems very convenient for us, but also tasteless and dry.
Young people may like those American life, but I think they should realize our nation's
values, which are really our treasure.
Elderly people can teach them those knowledge, wisdom and great experiences.
Through the Net, you already show us your all practice!
I think aged women can give the next generation more and more,
and more lively exchange will give us a big power.

I want to talk this issue more, but see you later.
Good bye, friends!

In the Net

Hi, everyone!

Alice, I have heard mixi a number of times.
I'm also interested with "the second life," a virtual area in the Net.
I'd like to try them some day, but I need more time and skill.
We can get and even excange the latest information about whatever we want.
Actually, it was through the Net I found out our English study group 2 years ago!
You are really enjoying with your maimiku, Alice, aren't you?

So, see you tomorrow, friends,
good nignt.

a Koshien player?

Hi, everyone!

I just came back from Osaka today.
I feel it was cooler in Osaka than in Nagoya.
When my family went to lunch at a hotel in Osaka,
many high school students were there, who all had a sports bag, signed
their school's name.
Some came from Hokkaido, and some from Ibaragi.
Yes, they would go to Koshien, the high school baseball championship.
The sight made me feel hot.

Dear friends, all your comments are very interesting and
full of lessons for me.
Just reading yours makes me happy, but I always have difficult in writing.

Magnolia, thank you for your advice.
I 'll try to thank my husband and tell my kids how happy they are.
(It seems pretty difficult...)

Azalea, I sympathized with your friend.
I also think in my heart, 'where can I be relaxed?'
Is it possible for a housewife to has her own room for relaxing?

So, it is late.
Good night and see you !

Have a nice weekend!

Hi, everyone!
It is too hot today, isn't it??

Azalea, your story about our finance seems very interesting.
Since I'm not familiar with the details of economy, I should begin learning
some economic study. But I have a fear of a difficult theory, and I am an easygoing person.
I feel great respect for your savvy.

Alice, I was interested in your story about your father.
Did you hear those tales from him?
I haven't heard such memory from my father, who was a typical salaryman.
When I was a young girl, I didn't understand his workstyle, and so I couldn't respect
him at that time. My kids, too, only see their father's exhaustion from work.
How can I give them respectworthy memory for their father?

Plum, you will enjoy your family's trip.
It is fantastic that family members can gather around new-born angel at such a nice place!
Have a good time!!

Our family will go to Osaka from now, and get back on Sunday night.
So, I'm sorry I can't post this blog tomorrow.
See you later, and have a nice weekend!

A professional

Hi, friends!

Plum, your hectic daily life seems a heartwarming scene for me.
His name "Yujin" sounds smart and cool.
Did you remember your former days as a young mother?
When my mother-in-law holded my baby in her arms for the first time,
she said that couldn't recall her memory as a mother of small children.
At that time, I couldn't believe such comment, but now feel like understanding her.

By the way, today I read a book "Puro ron", the essays on a professional.
In this book, many big names told their experiences, lifestyles, and advices for young people.
Each essay was very interesting and good lesson for me, and I found something in common.
A lot of specialists said that one should, and could choose one's favorite things for a job.
Is it an idealistic idea?
maybe, but true.
I also hope to be a brilliant person like them some day.

So, thank you and bye, friends!

Hokkaido was great 3

Hi, everyone!

Azalea, I also like the TV drama "kitano kunikara," and hoped to visit Goro's house.
But we couldn't do so, because I failed to use a car-navi system and changed our destination
to a lavender field, which was very famous in Furano.
But we succeeded in going the Fukiage onsen,
which is a hot spring Rie Miyazawa used on TV location.
My husband heard that men and women bathe together at that onsen,
and became eager for going there.
At last we came to there, but there was no lady but only an old man.
Poor my husband and I just turned back in a hurry.

Sunflower, you are lucky for having your daughter's husband.
How wonderful those colorful dishes were!
Is he a chef in a restaurant?
I don't like cooking, so I hope my kids would become good cookers
or marry good cookers.

So, good bye, friends!

Hokkaido was great 2

Hi, everyone!

High summer season will be soon be here,
and I really miss cool summer in Hokkaido.
My family also enjoyed several foods there, which were full of the power of nature.
For example, we found a shop that served many vegetables on the way to Hurano.
There were potatoes, tomatoes, and corns, displaying in the stores.
I was so drawn to a sign saying "yude tokibi" that bought 3 corns for us.
How sweet and delicious corns those were!
Though my kids don't like any corns at ordinary times,
they ate them up in a moment, and called for one more corn.
I deeply felt our poor foods at my house.

So, this is time to supper, bye friends!

Hokkaido was great

Hi, everyone!
I haven't seen you for a long time,
and is everything alright for you???

I came back from Hokkaido last night and now feel some travel fatigue.
Fortunately, the big typhoon didn't hit Hokkaido directly, so we could enjoy our 4 days trip.
Escaped from Nagoya's hot and sticky summer,
we also had a good time in cool and nice season at Hokkaido.
We rented a car and took a drive from Sapporo to Asahikawa and Hurano.
I was deeply impressed by the greatness of the ground, and the beauties of nature.
My kids were very excited and satisfied all through our trip.
But it was unfortunate for us that a tour of river walking
by a nature guide was cancelled for a long rain.( I was looking forward to do so much...!)
Anyway, I could refresh myself very much!

Plum, I read your comments again and again.
Norika's English diary was very good, but the native speaker's English
seemed a quite different kind for me.
I have to improve my "Japanese English" to "real English,"
but it is still a long way to achievement of my goal.

And thank you very much for your kind proposal, Plum.
I'm very happy to listen your lecture about feminism theory.
I'll try the Victorian Feminism before you coming back.

Dear friends,
good bye and see you tomorrow!

Typhoon,again

Hi, everyone!

Today is the first of August.
A powerful typhoon will come to Japan again.
My family make a plan going around in Hokkaido this weekend.
I hope nice weather...
So I'm sorry I can't post this blog for 4 days from tomorrow.

Do you enjoy your summer vacation?
How can you survive Nagoya's hot summer?

So, good night, friends!
See you later.
