An accidental meeting

Hi, everyone!

I like to read a book-review column on newspaper Sunday. Last Sunday I was impressed with a book-review by a female comedian. As far as I know, she usually plays the fool on TV, but in the newspaper, she appropriately expressed an attraction of a novel written by Natsuo Kirino, who is my favorite writer. I felt happy with such an accidental meeting.

Today I went to excise at sports gym, and now I am a little tired.
So, good bye, see you!

Hello, Cherry and my dear friends.

In Jonathan’s seminar he usually presented us headline news to launch discussion. It seemed that Ozawa’s mysterious action of resigning and then staying on as DPJ president looked complicated and difficult for Jonathan to understand as he is non-Japanese. He asked us some explanation about this issue. As you know we were so kind to make it clear for him as best we can.

My image of Ozawa was tough and stubborn. I thought him as a backroom fixer, but he showed his weakness in public. He exposed his weaker side of character which made him modest and humble. He said to the public that he was really a man of few words. I suppose his health condition might be in the best condition; he has heart problems. His hard working as DPJ president made him exhausted both physically and mentally. However, he must do his utmost again as the party's leader. I don’ want to see another Abe Shinzo, who threw away his responsibility because in the middle of a duty. Moreover, I strongly support the two political system in Japan.

Good-night, my friends.

Dear Cherry and friends,

Serendipitous people can encounter such an interesting accident. I would love to develop my serendipity, too.

The word, “accidental” reminds of me a movie called “The Accidental Tourist.” The story is a kind of romance, but for very reserved adults who would not be excited easily. I was not so interested in the movie when I saw it, because I was young and I would rather be interested in Meg Ryan's romantic comedies. Recently, I realized that my taste has changed. When I saw one of Meg Ryan's movie, I was not as attracted as before.

The book, “the Accidental Tourist” was written by Anne Tyler. She wrote “Ladder of Years.” This is one of the books I read in English. I borrowed the book from Phyllis. Although I can't remember the heroine's final decision, I was impressed by the way she ran away from her family. The heroine was a doctor's wife and she had some adult or teenager kids. When the woman and her family went on a vacation, she hitched a dump truck or some kind of long distance vehicle and vanished. The story focused on her life after that. She started a completely new life in a small town. She became a single person. She rented an apartment room and worked as a secretary at an office. There she built a new human relationships and met people who lived different lives. Somehow, she were found by her family. I wonder what happened to her in the end... I think I couldn't understand the last part because most good writers would never tell what happens in the end clearly. I asked Phyllis about her decision. However, I'm not very confident with my memory. It's a shame. Well, I'll check if I have chance.

Both “the Accidental Tourist” and “Ladder of Years” are quiet stories. So-called big “events” never happen in the stories except meeting ordinary people. But life is full of events and excitement if we look at it carefully and think about it deeply. After all, we live in our life story.

Hi, Cherry and friends
Today I got a happy news telling that Dr. Aoyama is going out of hospital. What a happy news! We will see cheerful Aoyama-sensei again soon.
Alice mentioned about “serendipity”. I have no such a special ability. On the contrary, I have missed many things, and besides, I am always busy in looking for the things I lost. However, without any special abilities, every life of individuals is full of unexpected affairs. Last week I went Gero Spa with my old friends of my high-school days. One day we happened to meet a fortune teller in a park on nice warm spring day soon after graduation of high school. He told our fortune solemnly. We, three high-teen girls were very excited to hear that. Now 45 years have passed since then. We have lived utterly different lives from the teller’s prediction. I’d like to tell you the contents of fortune tellers and what are our real lives at some other time. Today I’ll stop here. Bye!
