Hi, everyone!
I’m sorry to have worried you about my daughter, but she is getting better now. Last Friday, she said something was wrong with her stomach, probably because she caught cold. She kept lying down during the last three days. This afternoon she could get noodles, and I hope she can go to school tomorrow.
In fact, I felt really sad to have today’s lecture from Plum. I have too many problems to be solved. I wonder whether I can finish this work until next month. To learn the textbook of grammar now… it seems too late. Anyway, I already ordered the book through the Net. About this Blog, I regret wasting our time. From now on, I will do my best on it. I am deeply grateful to you, Plum.
So, see you tomorrow. Good night.

Hi, friends,
I went to school where I work in the morning. I made a term test for the seventh grader with three evaluation points. One is the knowledge and interest in the usage of English. Second is expression. We have to evaluate it in the written test. Third is reading and listening comprehension. More emphasis should be on speaking and listening, which Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology suggests. The fact is we put more weight on the written test. It is reasonable because there is always a relative relation between the score in speaking and writing. Another reason is that we cannot spend much time in speaking tests. Last year I was amazed with a boy who can communicate with an AET (assistant English teacher) so well. He has a passion to understand each other. If English is only a tool for communication, he must be the first student the teacher should give A. I hope he continues to study English. Thank you for reading. I am going to rewrite my essay.
Hello, everyone.
Alice, I can lend you all my books for the guide test, so if you need them let me know.
I had a cold and sore throat, but I have no pinch hitter for my place and I went to work last night with two Hokkairo with me.
When I came back around 10p.m. I found my DH without eating supper, so I had to cook something.
He'll starve to death if I die earlier. I felt helpless.
Even he had a lot of free time and I was ill, he didn't want to cook or eat out.
I wrote this message and tried to post it yesterday, which was February 18, but I could not do so because there was a problem with the Internet connection. I solved the problem this morning, and I am very happy that it was not a serious computer problem.
Today I went to work and had a fabulous time with my students.

Hi, everyone!!!
It has been another very cold day today, hasn’t it?
Tomorrow I will begin to read a book entitled The Anchoress of Ste. Maxime written by M. H. Cornwall Legh. Actually I got the copies of this novel and two other ones last summer while I was in Sydney. I think I ordered the British Library to make these copies for me and send them to me in Japan prior to my leaving for Sydney, but I was not really sure at that time that the Library could do that for me although I paid quite a large sum of money as I was requested, by my credit card.
I was extremely impressed when I saw them delivered to me from the Library and placed on the desk in my office after I returned to Nagoya. Unfortunately I came down with hernias in early autumn and did not have enough vitality to read them for a long time although I really wanted to do so.
The Anchoress of Ste. Maxime was published by the Religious Tract Society, which I suppose still exists in London, in 1903. I especially wanted to read this novel, because I just got a hunch that the reason why she came to Japan as an Anglican Church missionary would be hidden in this narrative.
Isn’t it exciting to go treasure hunting?
Talk to you again tomorrow, my precious friends. It will be a nice day tomorrow, according the NHK weather forecast. Just be happy about it and enjoy the lovely sunshine.
Dear Cherry,
Just a few corrections:
I’m sorry to have worried you about my daughter, but she is getting better now.
Cherry, please, please, do not apologize when you don’t think that you have done something wrong.
The above sentence can be corrected to:
Thank you for your concern about my daughter. Fortunately she is getting better.
Last Friday, she said something was wrong with her stomach, probably because she caught cold. She kept lying down during the last three days.
Probably the second sentence can be changed to:
She has been in bed for the last three days.
or:
She was in bed for the last three days.
Hello Cherry and friends
Azalea said that I haven’t written a sequel to an earlier story about tears. I am sorry I wrote only about female’s tears. Today, I’ll write about male’s tears.
H. Clinton’s tears did a great job, though she has been struggling with a difficult campaign. Then, just imagine! How do you feel, if Obama shed tears when he loses or wins the game? I am afraid that his point might decline.
By the way, do you know a bi-weekly magazine “ the Big Issue”? The magazine was published in 1991 in London by Mr. Bird, who experienced homeless during childhood. He launched his business as a way of supporting homeless people to gain independence and income. He said that solving the problem of homelessness is about helping people to help themselves. One of Toast Masters’ members shed tears during his talk about this magazine. He bought one from a homeless people standing and selling at a street corner on a very chilly windy day. The place was a crowded down town. But few passengers paid attention to him, let alone the magazines. He dared to buy one. Then what do you think happened? He was so impressed with the vendor’s attitude that he shed tears. The vendor bowed the person paying 300yen deeply again and again. He was moved by the vendor’s sincere attitude.
Well, society has been frightened of poverty, hunger and terrorism. Many people’s eyes are filled with tears of grief and anger and hopelessness. I want them to stop painful tears. We should shed beautiful tears for others, not for ourselves.
Thank you for reading my comment. See you again. Good night, friends.
Hello Cherry and my friends.
Spring seems to be coming just around the corner.
I like to see springs flowers blooming in the rooms. I bought peach blossoms, rape blossoms and green ears of barely. I put them in a vase and put it at the corner of the kitchen where my DH is allowed to smoke. Last night he said, “ Oh, a peach blossom is coming out.”
It’s so amazing that a potted butterfly orchid has been blooming for these three months. I bought it last November and it is still in beautiful bloom.
I put potted two pink primroses in the toilet and in the living room. I like to see the pretty primrose every time I go to the bathroom. Winter keeps flowers live longer.
Thank you for your kind offer, magnolia. I'll think about it.
Dear Cherry and friends,
Hello. How are you? It was a nice and warm day like a spring day, wasn't it? Sunflower seems to change the style of writing. It sounds poetic. Probably my ordinary life can be garmented with flowers if I can write artistically.
But, first, I needed some objects to write about.
So, I was a beauty-conscious stroller, today. I was lucky. I saw pretty white plum flowers blooming against the blue sky, this morning.
...
Umm. It's difficult to elaborate this flowery topic. I'll try using the same strategy some other time.
By the way, the thesis evaluation committee passed us. I was delighted with the news. We have to submit 3 copies of the final version to the school office by next week.
Talk to you later.
Hi, everyone!!!
It has been quite a warm day today, hasn’t it?
There is a lot of sunshine and the sunlight is fascinating, and this warm weather really makes me so happy.
This morning my gardener came and put fertilizer and sprayed an insecticide in our garden. He comes around regularly to do some gardening, almost once every two months, perhaps.
Did you have a good day today? Whenever I ask this question, I recall a Dutch baker, who also owned and ran his bakery and café in an area called One Tree Hill in Auckland, New Zealand. I lived there for almost one year.
Actually there are quite a number of Dutch people living in New Zealand. It was(is, too?) easier for the Dutch to migrate to New Zealand, because the island country was first discovered by a Dutch person. A large number of them are bakers, and make Dutch and European types of cakes, bread and pies for their living.
The One Tree Hill area was an expensive residential district, though it was only a small area, and there were some European style shops and restaurants along the main street. One of them was a pretty, rather dainty and elegant café run by the person I mentioned above.
I, not every day but a few times a week, went to that shop to buy some apple bread, and when I had time I entered the café to have some afternoon tea. The master of the shop was sitting at the table in the back, and asked me with a little smile on his face, “Finished your day?” At first I could not understand what he was asking me. “Pardon?” I asked, but he said the same thing. And then, he said it many, many times, and I got it. It was just a petty, sweet memory of mine I had in Auckland, which is a delightful place to visit.
By the way, did you have a good day today? I really hope so, my precious friends. Talk to you tomorrow. Bye for now…
Dear Cherry and friends,
Hello. How's everything?
The flower I noticed today was crimson sasanqua fenced around my sister's house. I like it very much. My most favorite is white sasanqua that I sometimes saw at Plum's house. It's gorgeous.
Around noon, I got an e-mail from m-chan by cellphone. Last month, she sent me two mini disks so called MDs. One contains music, the other does presidential speeches. I hadn't had time to listen to them because I was busy writing the thesis. Last night, I finally listened to the presidential speeches made by the former President Bush, the current President Bush. and Clinton. It also included Hilary Clinton's talk, too. Without no reason, I thought she would give me a message very soon. My idea goes like, “she will send me a message today because tonight I'm listening to the MD she sent me.” Sometimes this kind of idea feels quite logical to me. Only, it was not last night.
M-chan sent me a message today to just ask me how I've been doing these days. Her today's message reminded me of her previous message. It was about a horrible trouble which happened to her the other day. On that day, she gave me a message to my cellphone. According to her, at an athletics gym she visited and boxercised (the combination of boxing and exercise) regularly, a man approached from behind her, kicked her back, and ran away. He kicked her so strongly that she fell down. I was very surprised at this. Naturally, I thought about the recent incident that happened in Kyushu and killed two people. Knowing about this, my mother ordered me to tell m-chan to stop going to the gym. Before I passed on this order to m-chan, I got her second message that said she would not visit there for a while. I told her that I believed it was a good decision. I wish we will never meet crazy people like that guy. I hope the police will arrest him before something really bad happens.
My today's first reply to her was a simple “fine.” But on second thought, I had some news such as the completion of the thesis. Today, m-chan was also fine. She didn't catch cold this winter. She's going to take an English examination this year. I haven't seen her for some months. Let me see... Last time I met her was autumn. It was like long time ago. At the end of my message, I added, “let's meet and chat this spring.”
Good evening!
Hello Cherry and my friends.
It is February 21. It’s eleven five at night.
I have a question to ask you.
This was a sentence from an article.
The Yokohama customs authorities announced that bottled water imports surged by 35 percent from the previous year to 550-thousand kiloliters, posting a fourfold increase in 10 years.
The meaning of ‘post’ was not clear.
What do you think ‘post’ means?
Post has several meanings.
Do you think of another word for post without changing the meaning of it?
I check Post in 'Yahoo America', but it didn’t work becasue there were too many words such as Washinton Post or New York Post.
Thank you for your help.
