I thought the color of saffron was yellow or orange like saffron rice and I also remembered the movie 'Burma no tategoto' where Nakai Kiichi wore yellow robe, but as far as I saw priests who were demonstrating on TV, they wore red robes. Maybe the color of the robe depends on the class of the priests.
Then I remembered the dried flowers of saffron were red when I bought them to make paella.
