Hi, friends!
Thank you for showing your recipe of Asuka nabe, Magnolia. I like such sort of nabe, like as Ishikari nabe. Why is it called Asuka? I’ll try it soon.
Azalea, Cosmos, I also suffer from oblivion these days. When I go to the next room in order to do something, I sometimes can’t remember what I should do and say, ‘Why did I come here…?’
Alice, you have enjoyed nice communication with your friends, haven’t you? No treasure is more precious than our friends.
I’ll show you an interesting article from TIME this week, ‘The changing face of breast cancer’
‘But Asian women, as well as black women in the U.S. and Africa, are at higher risk of developing a more aggressive form of breast cancer…’
‘Asian women tend to have denser breast tissue than other women, and many studies show dense tissue is up to five times as likely to develop malignancies. What’s more, such tissue can conceal the disease since both tumors and healthy tissue may show up white on a mammogram.’
I wonder it is true. But according to the survey of TIME, the rate of breast-cancer incidence of Japanese is rather small, 32.7 per 100,000 people. U.S. is 101.1!
So, see you tomorrow, have a good weekend!

Hi, everyone.
I hate a mammogram. During the check-up, I can not bear a pain in the breast which the divice overwhelmingly presses. This is a torture. I experienced 4 times. After the check up, from a pain I wadled or faltered, I gripped a curtain in the x-ray room to hold on. The curtain was broken from the curtain rail. A surprised staff came to me. She asked ' Are you all right?' I vowed to myself, 'No more mammogram' I thought strong pressure might mutate my healthy cells in the breast. I doubt it produces cancer. It is unnatural. Who invented? Please invent the test by urine or blood.
Hi, friends.
Asuka-nabe is originated from Nara city where the priest from China, which was called Tou in Asuka period, made that cooking with goat's milk. So the clue to cook that is to use milk.
I sometimes use chicken instead of salmon with the broth of chicken or chicken soup. Because if I use salmon, it has similar taste of Ishikari-nabe. I also like Kasu-nabe with yellow tale(Buri) or salmon.
Today my son took a paid holiday and came to see us, so I cooked a pot-au-feu and chicken with apple sauce for dinner.
I also cook such a western nabe cooking as a pot-au-feu, cream or beef stew when young members come to my house.
My grandson has no dislikes and can eat everything, saying,'Oishii' many times, which makes me really happy.
Hi, everyone.
I went to see the movie 'Fudeko sono Ai' at Will Aichi and after that I could meet Yamada director, Inoue producer and an actress, Watanabe Azusa. I handed my essay to Ms.Inoue, who has not decided how she uses my essay yet though.
Thanks to Alice, my essay was beautifully edited, but I added the word 'Nagoya Women's Study Group' under my name.
Thanks to Cherry, I had my picture taken with the director and Ms.Watanabe, who was very beautiful. She looked so young that I couldn't believe that she had two children.
It is a good chance to let the world know about Ishii Fudeko because not only in Los Angeles, but in San Francisco, the movie will be on.I hope my essay will be helpful somewhat.
I'm glad to see Ms.Tada after a long interval, she looked well.
We recalled the memory of visiting Takinogawa Gakuen together.
Dear Magnolia
Thank you for reporting about the meeting with the movie director, producer, and the actress. Meeting such celebrities must be exciting.
I'm glad to hear you like the cover of your essay. Please keep us updated on its progress.
Hi, everyone!!!
I have just read Cherry’s messages in her blog and her contributors’ comments I missed for the past few days.
I was not well. Rather I was sick but I think I am getting OK now. I also got burnt on my left shoulder, and had to go to a hospital, since the wound was from the shoulder to the back and I could not see how it developed. It was so painful on Thursday, but it is getting much better now. Unfortunately I was told not to take a shower until my burn was completely healed, otherwise it would be infected, I was advised.
I am very happy to know Magnolia handed her essay to the producer. We revised the essay a couple of times (maybe more than that, I cannot remember) together early this year (we also exchanged a lot of emails about her essay). Her original essay was much longer than her publicized one, and it was very hard to shorten it without damaging the messages Magnolia wanted to convey to her readers. Now I am just doing the same work on Yasuko san’s essay. She handed me her 14-page essay. The limit is 10 pages and one bibliography page. I know sometimes it is quite hard for essay writing beginners to observe this restriction. But the number of pages is one of the most important rules to writers. No more or no less than the fixed number of pages. It is one of the hardest goals to achieve.
Tomorrow three junior members and I will get together at my house. I hope I could tell them what I have to say about essay writing. Essay writing is hard at first but it will become enjoyable gradually.
I noticed there was an obvious mistake in Marie’s profile that I pasted for you the other night. “I spent” should have been “I spend”. Anyway I corrected it and let her know it, and so it is good.
Well, it is getting late. I will talk to you again tomorrow. Please do not worry about me. I am feeling much better now. Goodnight, my precious friends. Sleep well, and have a fabulous day on Sunday tomorrow.
Hi, everyone.
Magnolia, thank you for your telling nice experience at the film festival. Congratulations!!
I went to the concert performed by the Century Chamber Orchestra. The entrance fee was surprisingly very cheap. It is played by amateur and a pro soliste( this time is Horn).
However, their performance was getting better and better every year. I enjoyed it very much. The brochure says owing to Nodame cantabile, the concerts held across the country this year performed Beethoven's No. 7.
I always whisper a little prayer
I gotta see your sweet, sweet smile every day.
It's Carpenters' song.
I am relieved by reading Plum's comment. I appreciate your contribution. You don' know your effects more than you know.
