Sunflower, it sounds interesting that Shinto and Christianity are incompatible with each other. After all, when we think about Shinto, we also have to consider the Imperial Family, which may be, a sort of, the untouchable subject in Japan. There are established ranks in our society, in the order the emperor, the family, the head of the family (men), and women. I really wonder whether we can change them in the future.

Hi, everyone.
I went to Tokyo from Tuesday to Thursday. Especially, on Tuesday I went to the library next to the Diet building.
This time, I went to the main building. As you know it's huge. At the information, the clerk was very kind. As soon as he haeard about what I wanted to read, he told how to get there to read them. Before you get there, you need a map of the library. If you want copies, you must fill an application form. The copy room is not near the reading room. In my case, it took at least 25 minutes for copy.
I repeated these procedures three times.In one time, you can get 50 copies. While I waited for the copies, I had to look for data for next copies. I had to repaet go and back three times.
Now, I am in the mood that I feel like dancing for joy.

Cherry, thank you for your persistent effort and motivate us to write English.
I didn't make New Year's resolution in particular, but I started new everyday/week routines. The important habit that I want to keep doing is to read as many books as possible. Especially, I want to read books in sociology. 'Cause last two years I didn't have enough time to read them. As you know, I have been studying statistics. Currently, my supervisor is proofreading the thesis. I'm waiting for it to be done. I hope it doesn't have to be drastically rewritten.
Another routine I have started this year is to visit a dentist. The end of last year, I found my filled tooth had become a big cavity again. The filled amalgam came out when I ate a roast fish. As soon as the dentist opened after the New Year's holiday, I visited the dentist. Only one week later, the decayed tooth was beautifully filled. Since I had not visited a dentist for many years, I asked him to check other teeth. To my disappointment, I have several cavities. Most of them are not severely eroded but I have cavity-causing bacteria in the mouth. He didn't recommend rash treatment of first stage cavities. According to him, if teeth are drilled a few times, they are destroyed earlier. So we decided to keep eyes on cavities' developments. However, at least two cavities have to be treated. Annoying? Not necessarily. I enjoy visiting the dentist. He is a nice guy with a sense of humor.

How nice to know it is that Azalea went to the library in Tokyo and Alice is now getting dental treatment from the dentist who is a nice guy with a sense of humor!
Nowadays, I normally spend most of my time reading at home. I am having a fairly quiet time. I do not watch television much, nor do I go out to see friends or colleagues. Nor do I talk with my sister on the phone for a long time. Time seems to have ceased.
But it is not so bad, or rather it is delightful to curl myself in a sunny niche in my lounge all day long, since it is awfully cold and sometimes windy outside these days.

Dear Cherry and friends
I have had my teeth checked once a month periodically for several years because I want never to put artificial teeth in future. I hope to eat food and enjoy meals with my own teeth until the end of my life. But to my depressed, the dentist found one decayed tooth last Monday. I had to take a treatment for the tooth last Wednesday, which was a rare total free day for me and I had planned to go to library all day long. It is very difficult for me to do things in accordance with my planned schedule. I spent time at dentist in the morning and wasted the time of afternoon, being yield by another temptation. So I always respect the members’ strong will.
Well, I went to a funeral ceremony of my close friend. I recalled the time I shared with her during the funeral and I couldn’t help being choked with tears. She had a strong interest in learning in her life and such attitude of her gave a great influence to me.
Anyway I am praying for the repose of her soul tonight.
