An Aikido class

Hi, everyone!
Dear friends, how about your weekend?

Cosmos, I'm sorry for my big mistake. That was just strange thought.

Azalea, when I have such news about a fossil dinosaur, I feel smallness of our lives, and vast passing times.

Yesterday I went to look an Aikido class for women at Sakae. Because it was my first experience, I was a little tense. There were about ten women trying Aikido followed a coach, who appeared her early thirties. They had many interesting tricks for ninety minutes, and I learned from the coach several differences between Karate. It was really intriguing time, but now I wonder how to keep my power with it. Recently, I have to feel a decline in my stamina. It may be better in taking a careful strategy for me…

So, see you tomorrow, good bye!

Hi, everyone!!!
How did you spend this Sunday afternoon? Did you have a quite afternoon or a busy one? Maybe a lovely afternoon?

I went to Hoshigaoka Terrace with my husband, and did some shopping. He did not buy anything as usual, but I bought what I wanted to buy, and we had lunch at a Japanese restaurant there. But, but, that was a big mistake, because we had a terrible lunch. I went to Terrace only once, perhaps a few years ago, with my daughter, and so I did have little information about restaurants in that shopping complex, and we just tried one of them. I will never go there again. The dishes were horrible. The food in the deli section of our nearby supermarket is much better, I suppose.

I am very glad that you now know something about Doris Lessing. It’s a shame that she has not been completely introduced to Japan. She is one of the most important authors in contemporary English literature, and Japanese scholars in that field, of course, should know about her and have a lot of information about her and her works. But, as I told you, they are so lazy, and they don’t do what they are socially expected to do. I always get angry with those lazy academics. (Don’t worry about my anger. I am just overemphasizing their laziness.) They have to work harder so that we the general public could get more information about what is happening around the world. (I’m not talking about everyday happenings as seen in news programs on TV. I am talking about academic information.)

Last night I cooked red beans and made zenzai, since my husband and I love zenzai. The taste of cooked red beans becomes much better when we leave it overnight, just as soup or curry sauce. So we had zenzai this evening, and I had three bowls of it while my husband just two. I know I had too much.

I am very glad to hear that Alice is much better now. I hope everyone is well and fine. I am OK. I will talk to you again tomorrow, my precious friends. Goodnight… Sweet dreams.

Hi, everyone.

Cherry, I heard Aikido used the strength of the opponent. It is good for you if you feel your stamina reducing. When I was a child, my brother threw me over tatami mats. He learnt Judo at the junior high school. He had me excise how to buffer the strength when I was thrown. When I went to the Junior high school and high school, I had no Judo class. I was disappointed. At high school, it had a tatami room for Judo. I threw my female classmates, I was very scolded by the teacher of the physical education. In hindsights, I did very dangerous things.
I was very headlong, my mother often berated me for my inadvertent behavior. When I did bungee jumping, she was shocked and rebuked me. I recommend her to do it because she was suffering from pains in the hip. I thought jumping made her waist stretch. She said 'It is a good idea to stretch my disk but my heart will stop.'

Dear Cherry and friends,

Hi. I didn't use the spell checker yesterday. I found a yesterday's misspelling just now. Sorry for that. Please don't notice it.

Receiving your sympathetic and kind words, I'm as fine as before.

I met another friend of mine, m-chan, this evening and went to a restaurant not very far from my house. Last time we met was when m-chan was leaving Japan. It was about a few months before Sunflower and I went to Canada to study feminism. So we haven't met for nearly three years. M-chan and I were abroad almost at the same time. She was studying how to teach Japanese in UK when I was in Canada.

Some weeks ago, she e-mailed me, telling she wanted to read books written by Plum. At that time, I was busier than now so I promised to meet her as soon as I finished the interim presentation.

M-chan said she recently started a language school called Kamenoko. She is the only teacher there and she teaches English, Italian, and Japanese. Not like native English teachers, her class is not a conversation class. She mainly teaches grammar. In fact, she is very strict about grammar.

I asked what her objective was. Her answer was, “I want to be a person who sets a great value on the correct grammar and usage of each language.” Her determination sounds evangelical.

I'll stop here tonight and go to bed now.
Talk to you later.
Good night.

Hello, Cherry and my friends.
Today is October 15, Monday. After a long silence, I started to write on this Blog.
Magnolia, I deeply appreciate your dedication to summarize Jonathan’s seminar I had missed. Your message helped me understand what kind of discussion was being held and also it gave me the good hint of the next topic.
I’d like to report that your essay about Fudeko Ishi has given a great impact to one woman, who was deeply impressed to read your paper. I feel the same way as she did. I’m going to see the film of Fudeko Ishii on this Saturday at Will Aichi.

Last Saturday(October 13) was my 58th birthday. My family including my son’s fiancée, Yuko-chan went to Kakiyasu to have kaiseki cuisine. We also cerebrated his promotion. I got a cashmere scarf from a young couple. We enjoyed eating while chatting and laghing.

I’m now writing the history of Christianity in Japan. It’s worth researching because fragments of my knowledge seemed to be coordinated and integrated into my mind through a process of making a chronology of its history.

I hope I'll finish it in a few days.
